In Memory of Jerry and Sherlene Church

Jerry Church and Sherlene Robinson married in December of 2007.  They were a fun loving couple.  Both of them were good citizens who helped other people.  If you were with them, you were enjoying yourself.  Jerry and Sherlene did not even make it to celebrate their first anniversary.  Their lifeless brutaly beaten bodies were found in their Waverly Hall, Ga home on June 29, 2008.

Jerry retired honorably from the US Army.  He served two tours in Vietnam and earned a bronze star and three purple hearts, among several other awards.  He served his country with pride and honor.  He was very intelligent and tutored students of all ages in Math.  He was a talented writer, machinist, and woodworker.  He was a loyal and good friend.  He helped the neighbors and the community.  He was so very proud of his new wife.  He continously talked about her beauty and kindness.

Sherlene was originaly from Bermuda.  She had lived in the United States for about thirty years.  She was very fun to be around.  She was a talented entertainer.  She played the drums and sang.  She was a well respected member of her church and community.  She gained enjoyment through helping others.

Jerry and Sherlene would go play music for the local nursing homes on the weekend.  They liked bringing enjoyment into other people's lives.  Their love of music is what bonded them, but their love for each other is what kept them together.

They touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by their friends and family members.

Sherlene's message to her children and grandchildren

Keeping the Principles

The First Principle is Unity was the Power and still is.  Therefore, one may not make anything or partner with the Power.  This implies that one may not worship any form of Idol. The Second Principle is Respect.  It is to the Power that the highest is due.  And just as Respect is due to the Power, Respect is due to its Name.  This implies that one must not curse any name that is used for the Power, whether it be God, Lord, or any other name in any language. The Third Principle is Justice.  Without justice civilization cannot exist, and there would be chaos, where the forces of darkness would prevail.  This Principle implies that one cannot pervert justice in any way.The Fourth Principle is Life.  One must hold human life in the highest Respect.  This implies that one must not murder a fellow human being. The Fifth Principle is Love.  Love is the bond between Man and the Power.  This is Great Love, it is reflected in the Love between Man and Woman, this love must not be perverted.   One must not pervert the love between Man and Wife, or between Members of a family.  Therefore, this principle forbids all adultery and incest. The Sixth Principle is Honesty.  This Principle forbids robbing and/or stealing in any form. The Seventh Principle is Kindness.  This must extend even to the animals.

Jerry's wish for his children and grandchildren
The most important thing that I want to pass on the my children is imagination.  I want them to look at a run down shack and see the pleasant cottage or grand palace trapped inside it.  I want them to look at a successful person and imagine themselves in that position.  I want them to know if it can be imagined, it can be accomplished with work.  I want them to conger up the picture of the perfect parent and then become that parent for my grandchildren.  I want them to dream dreams without being ashamed.  I want them to not be afraid to take actions to make those dreams come true

We are all praying that justice will be served

We miss and still love you both

Please add Jerry and Sherlene's families and friends to your prayer list as they make this difficult journey.
